Swiss sovereignty is a legal guarantee, not a marketing claim

When we say your data stays in Switzerland, we mean it — contractually, technically, and legally.

What Swiss sovereignty actually means

'Swiss-hosted' is a meaningful claim only when it comes with legal teeth. Nectos is operated by Adopt-AI SA, a Swiss corporation (SA) registered in Geneva, subject to Swiss law — including the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (nDSG/FADP) and the Swiss Code of Obligations.

Your data is processed on infrastructure operated by Hidora SA, a certified Swiss cloud provider. No processing occurs outside Swiss territory. No data is transferred to foreign jurisdictions without your explicit consent.

This matters because when your data crosses a border, it becomes subject to foreign law. The US CLOUD Act, for example, allows US authorities to demand access to data held by US-linked companies — even if that data is stored in Switzerland. Nectos has no such exposure.

The Swiss nDSG / FADP advantage

The Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (nDSG), in force since September 2023, is among the most rigorous data protection frameworks in the world — comparable to the EU's GDPR but tailored to Swiss legal tradition.

Nectos is designed to help you comply with the nDSG, not just avoid violating it. This means data minimization by design, purpose limitation, documented retention policies, subject rights management, and a clear data processing agreement.

Switzerland is recognized by the European Commission as providing an adequate level of data protection — meaning Swiss data flows are compliant with GDPR cross-border transfer requirements.

No foreign AI training on Swiss data

One of the most significant but underappreciated risks of mainstream AI assistants is the use of your data to train their models. When you use a foreign AI service, your prompts, documents, and conversations may become training material.

Nectos does not do this. We commit contractually — in our Terms of Service and in every DPA we sign — that customer data is never used for AI training, fine-tuning, or model improvement.

This commitment applies to all data: your conversations, uploaded documents, knowledge base content, and audit logs.
